Fall Intern (Part-Time/Flexible Hours)
Location
Remote with required weekly virtual meetings
Hours
10-12 hours per week (schedule to be determined based on team’s availability)
Internship Start Date
September 30, 2026 with a pre-read requirement that will take 10-12 hours before day one of the internship (reading the manuscript and author Substack posts)
Internship End Date
November 20, 2026
Compensation
Eligible for academic credit through participating universities. This is a portfolio-building role with a completion stipend of $500.

About the Opportunity
An independent author and entrepreneur is seeking creative, organized, and social-media-savvy interns to help execute a strategic social media and content marketing plan. The intern will play a key role in building an author platform, expanding audience reach, and preparing for the launch of a forthcoming book.

About the Author
Christina May is a communications strategist, digital media executive, and writer with 25+ years of experience across corporate, nonprofit, and independent ventures. She has held C-suite positions at multiple organizations, founded three nonprofits, and contributed to newspapers and magazines as both an advice columnist and parenting expert. *This Ends Here* is her first book.
Intern Responsibilities
- Execute a four-month social media calendar designed to increase audience engagement and author visibility
- Produce short-form videos, graphics, captions, and reader engagement posts
- Monitor current social media performance and provide recommendations for growth
- Identify opportunities to connect with influencers, book reviewers, podcasts, speaking engagements, and reading communities
- Track engagement metrics and prepare weekly updates
- Brainstorm creative ways to increase visibility, engagement, and newsletter sign-ups
Qualifications
- Current college student or recent graduate studying marketing, communications, psychology, journalism, media, analytics, business, or a related field
- Strong interest in books, psychology, mental health, and social media marketing
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, Substack, and emerging social platforms
- Excellent communication skills
- Creative, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
- Experience creating social media content is preferred but not required

Final Deliverable
By the end of the internship, the student will help execute a social media and content marketing strategy, make audience growth recommendations, and have a portfolio of sample content they developed that is designed to support an author platform.
Academic Credit
The author is willing to work with participating universities to provide internship documentation, learning objectives, supervision, and evaluations required for academic credit.
*Note: This internship could continue into the spring semester if mutually desired.*
Pay: $500.00 per year
